Start with a medium pick and then explore a wide variety of shapes, materials, and guages or thickness. You can put these picks in a jar and create your own “pick salad”. As you practice with different picks, you’ll immediately notice the difference in how they feel in your hand. You should also experiment with the different types of tone you can create.
