Snapping and Popping

This free country guitar lesson by Peter Vogl will teach you how to snap and pop strings in a country chicken pickin’ fashion. First off, let me say to get this sound, you either use a thumb pick or no pick at all. I am going to use my index finger. I get my right index finger under the string a bit and pull or snap it. I usually combine it with a note played with my thumb pick. A word of caution – Have you heard the line in the song “maybe get blister on your little finger”. Well this is where you get one. Your index finger will get friction burn and blister if not careful. Kind of a right of passage.
