Michael Doke

Michael Doke began playing guitar at the age of 10 with the help of his two older brothers, with whom he would later form the Doke Brothers Band. At the age of 15 he began to focus on Slide Guitar. Throughout the 70’s and early 80’s he toured the southern rock circuit and opened shows for bands such as  Humble Pie, Joe Walsh, Molley Hatchet, The Band, Donnie Van Zandt, the Atlanta Rhythm Section and many others. From  the mid 80’s through today he has focused on song writing, session work, and performing live with various friends and associates including Jan Smith and Peter Vogl.

He is currently performing with The Blue Rhythm Band, a group of veteran musicians from the Atlanta/Athens, Ga. area featuring the guitar prowness of Peter Vogl and the dynamic vocals of Lesa Powers. After playing Slide Guitar for almost forty years he has developed a unique style that sounds like no one else.
